The Senior Financial Analyst will be the lead on financial projection templates for the US+MLH businesses, (including GAAP projection templates, cash and tax cash flows), financial dashboards, and other key projects on the U.S. Business FP&A team. S/he will support the US FP&A team and each of the business segment finance teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of each of our monthly projections and throughout our business planning cycles.
Prepare and manage projection templates for the Group Benefits, Retirement and Income Solutions, and MetLife Holdings FP&A teams; includes updating with actuals from ledger
Timely submission of support files, including cash flows to investments and tax
Improve and update existing processes through the use of modern tools (i.e. Alteryx, PowerBI)
Collect and consolidate variance commentary for key metrics/indicators as needed for management reviews
Partnering with stakeholders and troubleshooting unexpected variances
Ad hoc projects as assigned
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
5-8+ years of experience in a public or private company environment
Ability to partner across departments to improve processes and analysis
Ability to adhere to adhere to strict reporting deadlines, including overtime as needed during peak periods
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel
Excellent written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and time-management skills
BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting desired
Proficiency in GAAP/STAT concepts in Insurance Finance
Working knowledge of financial systems, including general ledger, HFM, and Oracle Cloud
Ability to use Alteryx, PowerBI, or other FP&A enablement tools a plus
