Role Description
The Growth Product Development Actuarial Director will be a critical part of the Growth Solutions Squad working closely Distribution, Finance, and Risk areas. This role will supervise one actuarial student on the team.
He or she will collaborate with Squad members to help achieve Squad missions and ORKs under a test-and-learn culture that entails MVP delivery, innovation, frequent engagement with customers and stakeholders, and continuous iteration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with Squad members to help achieve Squad mission OKRs
- Leverage Tribe expertise to bring the best in-class thinking to creative innovate solutions
- Have an open mind to experiment to learn by constantly building hypothesis to test with customers. Challenge the "status quo" by testing assumptions and asking questions
- Responsible for the actuarial modeling of Growth Retirement Income Solutions.
- Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Performing projections, analyze, summarize, and communicate results
- Provide key metrics (VNB, IRR, ROA, etc.) with regard to proposed product designs through the use of actuarial models
- Collaborating with other IR Squads and Finance/Risk Management teams regarding product development projects
- Development of pricing methodology and pricing assumptions as needed
Key skills
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles and analysis.
- Liability expertise and/or asset-liability modeling experience, especially regarding Annuity products
- Ability to adopt the Agile mindset and behaviors, as outlined below

Qualifications
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
Annuity Insurance Products: Knowledge of annuity insurance products, product groups and services; ability to apply the knowledge of products and services appropriately to diverse situations, including but not limited to marketing development and product consulting.
Statistics and Actuarial Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling tools and techniques; ability to apply modeling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions.

Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- FSA (or near FSA) designation required
- 4+ years of actuarial experience required
- 2+ years of annuity experience preferred
- Pricing experience preferred
- Exposure to leading actuarial projection systems, in particular GGY AXIS is preferred
- Understanding of financial reporting, key metrics (US GAAP and/or Stat/EEM)
- Established interpersonal/relationship management skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to research complex accounting issues independently and provide recommendations.
- Self-starting with strong organization skills and the ability to manage either a process or a team and handle multiple competing priorities in a demanding environment. Ability to prioritize and direct the activities of others as needed.
- Ability to review work of peer squad members and provide clear feedback
- Experience executing in an Agile environment
- Proven verbal, written communication and presentation skills to all levels of the organization
- Ability to facilitate learning and development through individual and team coaching
- Ability to drive the adaption of NWOW/Agile practices and conduct Ceremonies: daily huddle, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint demo
