The Actuarial Software Engineering team at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for crafting and improving systems that ensure the company can meet its financial obligations to its customers, employees, and field representatives. The assignment will be on an agile team developing a web application to maintain data to be integrated with other applications supported by the Actuarial Software Engineering team. You'll be part of a team that plays a crucial role in ensuring this phenomenal company continues to do great things for its
customers.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate technical ability to develop, build, and implement software changes that meet business needs
Strive to continually improve our core systems, with a focus on delivering excellence to the business experts who rely on your work
Work with domain experts and technical peers to translate business needs into software engineering projects
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, completion of bootcamp, or equivalent experience
Classroom programming experience
Proven continuous learning approach
Ability to dissect problems and recommend solutions
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to learn multifaceted technologies
Experience with engineering best practices to include analyzing, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.

Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of React, JavaScript, NodeJS.
Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS frameworks.
Familiar with functional components, hooks, Redux.
Familiarity with DevOps and Git.
Relational and non-relational database knowledge preferred
Experience with Postgres, Dynamodb, Entity Frameworks and .Net Core preferred.
Strong technical skills to communicate technical topics to both technical teams and non-technical teams
