Job Description
The key objective of the Claims Business Analyst is to provide support to the PBU Insurance Claims Department in the development and execution of new processes and systems, both internally and externally. In this critical role, the Business Analyst will work closely with business unit leaders, end-users, and IT to establish and implement new processes, process changes and updates to meet specific business requirements. This role includes information gathering, eliciting, analyzing, validating, documenting detailed business needs and testing requirements for various projects, and communication across the insurance line of business. The Claims Business Analyst will also serve as the bridge between end-users, the software development teams, testing and key stakeholders to develop new and enhanced functionality and processes for our insurance products and systems.

What you will do:
Gather and analyze key claims data and information for business leaders to thoroughly understand.
Make recommendations for changes to process or technology to address new and changing business needs
Create and deliver functional/business requirements, documentation, and software design specifications
Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards. Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail and in appropriate forms suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements
Identify, define, produce, and update detailed documentation for new and/or changing enhanced processes, systems, and programs
Develop detailed task plans and contribute effectively to project planning and implementation
Develop formal specification plans, communications, procedures, and training for business end-users
Participate in user acceptance testing
Coordinates and manages the business releases, including training and communications to the end-user
Provide pre- and post-implementation support to internal and external users
Closely monitor project status and milestones to ensure achievement of established deadlines
Conduct ongoing analysis of business processes and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Reduce or eliminate process redundancies and inefficiencies
Document business processes in a simple, clear concise manner

Requirements:
Previous claims processing experience is required (minimum of 2 years)
Project Analyst work experience 1-2 years preferred; any internships or college projects considered
Strong technical aptitude: able to effectively work with technical specifications and work effectively with IT team members
Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required, MS Visio and MS Project (or other project tracking software) is an asset
Exceptional research, reporting and interviewing skills (SMEs and process owners)
Experience with data management/data architecture a strong plus
Strong knowledge of C&F products and services, including policies and procedures desired
Post-secondary education (RVT, AHT or equivalent programs) preferred, but not required
