Product Owner Learning & Development
This role will work remotely four days a week and will be in the office one day per week.
The Product Owner will be a critical part of New Ways Of Working (NWOW) at Equitable, working closely with the Head of Talent using Agile methodology / NWOW principles. He or she will co-create the vision and goals with the Perform & Develp Squad, and will proactively guide the Squad towards these goals under a test-and-learn culture that entails minimum viable product delivery, innovation, frequent engagement with customers and stakeholders, and continuous iteration.
Squad Activities:
* The Perform and Develop Squad seeks to build, deliver, and manage all aspects of Equitable's performance management process as well as specific talent development and HR learning programs for the organization. The Squad is also responsible for improving our current processes and approach, leading to new and innovative ways to help our employees perform at their best and grow their careers.
* Squad activities may include - but are not limited to:
o Continue to drive engagement and education around the new skills based career model framework at Equitable
o Develop the organizational learning strategy and execute enterprise programs in the areas of;
Leadership development programs
Employee development programs
Business-specific support and consultation
o Manage the performance management process
o Manage the adoption strategy for the Talent modules in our Human Capital Management System (Oracle)
o Partner with the Business, Compliance, and 3rd party agencies on the deployment of mandatory / required training
o Manage the Equitable's learning platform
o Develop the education strategy to support re-entry to the workplace
Product Owner Responsibilities:
* Formulate and articulate the vision for each initiative pursued by the Squad, with input from other Squad members and external stakeholders
* Facilitate the development of the Squad's OKRs
* Lead the creation of a roadmap detailing timelines and dependencies around the crafting and delivery of Squad initiatives
* Act as the "voice of the customer", creating a culture of customer obsession and encouraging continuous feedback loops from customers and stakeholders
* Develop and own the Squad backlog - i.e., the "to-do" list over subsequent sprints, with consistent refinement of the Backlog based on customer and business value
* Oversee and evaluate the progress of the Squad, and adapt the Squad backlog and sprint work plan accordingly
* Play an active role in leading agile Ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives
* Serve as the primary liaison between the Squad and other stakeholders - including other Squads, Tribes, Centers of Excellence, and senior management
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* 8-10 years of experience in Talent Management, Learning or Performance Management
* Experience executing in an Agile environment is required
* Experience in the financial or insurance industry is preferred but not required
* Strong collaborative problem solving with ability to gather, analyze and synthesize a significant amount of information, and turn it into a compelling product vision
* Ability to drive the adoption of NWOW / Agile practices and conduct Ceremonies: daily huddle, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint demo
* Passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas - loves and embraces change
* Belief in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust
* Readiness to "roll up the sleeves" and to go outside comfort zone to learn, ability to push teams to do the same
* Readiness to empower others to fail, learn, and grow
* Experimental mindset to drive innovation
