This position will be responsible for the technical support of the live streaming of hybrid campus events at Oakland University, working closely with the CSITS Events team and supervised by the Manager of IT-MAS. Additionally this position will assist with other IT & Media Application Services tasks, such as providing technology support for classroom computers and several administrative offices on campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience with streaming platforms and software for medium to large live events, with audio and video capture hardware (YouTube Studio, Facebook Live, Twitch, Wirecast, OBS, etc.), including troubleshooting.
Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in live event technology setups: audio support, content display, staging, lighting; with experience in hospitality, higher education or audio-visual staging company.
Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience administering virtual meetings, conferences and webinars using streaming platforms, such as Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Ability to keep a schedule, be punctual, and work with or without direct supervision.
Effective communication skills (written and oral) and English proficiency.
Ability to learn new technologies and ask pertinent questions.
Ability to lift 50 pounds when needed to move equipment.
Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), including troubleshooting.
Experience with computer troubleshooting.
Ability to work evenings and weekends and maintain a flexible schedule that is aligned with scheduled needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graphic Design experience.
Minimum of 1 – 2 years ofexperience supporting video and multimedia production, digital image manipulation, and/or graphic design and production.
Minimum of 1 – 2 years working higher education special events.
Experience developing training materials for users and staff.
Familiarity with ADA captioning requirements.
Familiarity with file format conversions and basic video editing.
Ability to install peripheral equipment, such as printers and scanners.
Experience with Windows, Mac OS and/or Linux.
Troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues in an enterprise environment.
Degree in related field or 1 to 2 years experience with related technology.
