Reporting to the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicines Assistant Dean of Development & Alumni Relations, the Program Officer has primary responsibility for several critical areas: management of all database-related needs and initiatives, as well as serving as primary data analyst in the GSDM Office of Development & Alumni Relations; management of constituent/department-based annual appeals (direct mail and e-solicitations), and the management and tracking of specific campaign fund initiatives for internal and external audiences, all of which will assist in meeting the Schools philanthropic objectives. The Program Officer must be able to work proactively and independently within the overall team setting of the Office of Development & Alumni Relations, as well as interact broadly within the School and across the University. Some evening and weekend work required.
(25%) Serve as primary database administrator and data analyst for GSDMs Office of Development & Alumni Relations, develop analytics including the creation of queries and reports to track progress toward campaign goals, provide staff with donor and prospect lists, develop and implement reporting structures and systems for departments and individuals requesting donor updates for specific funds and campaign priorities, and prepare data for all marketing and communication efforts; prepare donor honor roll listings; adhere to database usage and management best practices and work closely with database IT team in the Central University Development Office.
(50%) Using industry best practices, manage annual direct mail and e-solicitation appeal efforts to donor constituencies, including alumni, faculty and staff; assist in goal setting for annual appeals and working with Department Chairs, prepare departmental fundraising reports and donor stewardship; work in collaboration with GSDM Office of Development & Alumni Relations colleagues to ensure efficiency and performance objectives are reached at the School and in coordination with GSDM and University goals; manage donor acknowledgement process with University Development Office and GSDM Dean.
(25%) Serve as principal liaison for office, working directly with GSDM Director of Events, GSDM Director of Communications and staff, as well as University Development and Alumni Relations, to plan GSDM programs, communications, and events.
Work experience of 5-6 years preferred. Bachelor's Degree is required, Must be able to work well under pressure and have strong organization and planning skills, Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently, Must have strong communication skills both written and oral, Must be adept with Microsoft Office - Excel and Word and comfortable working with technology. Previous experience with Blackbaud database software preferred.
