Role Value Proposition:
This role acts as a member of the Service Management Platform team, responsible for assuring alignment to busines strategy and governance decisions. The Business Systems Specialist documents the environment, analyzes impacts of new requirements, and provides controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are leveraged in the delivery of busines solutions through MetLife's Service Management platform (ServiceNow).
ServiceNow represents MetLife's Service Management solution, facilitating the execution of processes including Incident Management, Request Management, Change Management, Release Management, and Vendor Risk Management. Over 9,000 MetLife employees globally use ServiceNow to manage over 2.8 million tickets annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aligns ServiceNow Platform capabilities to business strategy and platform roadmap
- Performs discovery and design work sessions to translate technical complexities to stakeholders, ensuring understanding of design decisions including mock-ups, flow diagrams and solution requirements
- Accountable for base system architecture and core data designs including integrations with other systems for workflow and automation use cases
- Provides leadership and participates in the implementation of new platform capabilities
- Interacts regularly with vendor Product Management teams to identify opportunities presented by emerging capabilities and to provide input to vendor roadmaps
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 5+ years experience with ServiceNow or similar cloud-based workflow systems
- Strong technical knowledge of workflow, automation, and integration capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to establish consensus and deliver outcomes
- Ability to independently plan deliverables and coordinate with team members
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field
Preferred:
- ITIL v3/v4 certification
- 5+ years experience configuring ServiceNow forms, business rules, reports, etc.
- Experience developing and maintaining platform architecture diagrams
- Experience with database design schemas and database modeling
- Experience supporting solution deployments and releases
- Demonstrated ability to partner with vendor Product Management teams
