The Enterprise Data & Services Delivery (EDSD) team sits within the Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) unit within UITS. EI is made up of talented IT professionals providing best practices and effective methodologies in support of the highly portable and secure IT services needed for greater flexibility, improved efficiency and decision making. The Data Delivery portion of the EDSD team creates and maintains university-wide applications and systems which support IU's reporting, analytics, and data resources infrastructure, which includes: the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Tableau server, Denodo server, and custom applications for discovering and securing data resources. With minimal supervision, the Systems Programmer/Analyst provides specialized technical knowledge in the manipulation, access, and security of enterprise application data used for reporting, analytics, visualizations, and application integration, as well as the administration and maintenance of the underlying systems, such as Informatica PowerCenter, Tableau, and Denodo.
Supports enterprise data warehouse development partners in their use of our systems and the daily data-load processes (ETL), including oversight of the weekly ETL code migration. Shares on-call responsibilities with the rest of the team.
Participates in data analysis, documentation, and support of the Data Delivery team's services (Tableau, Denodo, Data Delivery, IUIE, and Enterprise Data Warehouse).
Has the option to take on the role of scrum master/agile mentor for the entire Data Delivery team, giving them knowledge of the web application development done to support data delivery, and opportunity to have an understanding of and influence in the entire set of services and applications owned by the Data Delivery team.
Provides advanced analysis and programming related to the design, development, and support of systems.
Consults with stakeholder(s) to define system requirements, problems, and proposals; provides leadership for detailed studies, for presenting detailed requirements/designs to stakeholder(s); obtains agreement and approval for proposed updates/changes.
Conducts advanced systems studies that include feasibility, conceptual design, cost/benefit analysis, and development/implementation planning; may prepare estimates of resource requirements in terms of time, cost, and equipment for systems design, as well as programming.
Prepares conversion and systems implementation plans and schedules; writes specialized routines and modules for application systems and follows through to insure that systems are successfully implemented.
Leads in the documentation of systems analysis and programming efforts (changes, new functionality, issues/problem resolution).
Researches and stays up-to-date on systems analysis and programming best practices, tools, and approaches; disseminates information to team members and junior peers to promote best practices as appropriate.
Collaborates and contributes on committees in sharing and improving systems analysis and programming practices across the university.
May serve as project lead; often provides guidance and support to junior peers.
Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science or related field.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work with the possibility of periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus, depending on work location.
