The DFCI Enterprise Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Analyst is a critical member of the Informatics & Analytics team supporting the implementation and on-going development and operations of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) in support of the overall DFCI mission to improve quality and manage healthcare expense trends.?? This is a hands-on position that requires a technical and functional understanding of healthcare analytics and data warehousing.
The role is expected to understand and apply best practices and provide expertise in test strategy, test plans, automating test scripts, and defect traige.?? As such, it is expected that the individual will understand the full lifecycle of data warehouse and business intelligence projects. The individual in this position will interact with directors, product owners, leads, consultants, business analysts, co-developers and business/clinical users. The successful candidate will be an experienced quality assurance tester with extensive enterprise background using quality assurance processes and automated test scripts.

- Review product requirements, functional specs, and design specifications to create comprehensive test plans, scenarios, cases, and scripts
- Define exit/entry criteria for project testing gates (unit, integration, acceptance)
- Write and maintain automated scripts and test plans to insure quality of the data
- Prepare and validate test data according to business rules using SQL queries
- Execute test cases and document test results and escalate issues appropriately
- Perform quality assurance of all data integrated into the DFCI Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Report and track defects, assist developers in defect resolution, and compile test results for reporting
- Identify the cause of the data issues (discrepancies, missing values, different formats etc.) and provide the solution to fix the problem
- Assist in the User Acceptance Testing process for clients
- Partner with project managers, developers, and analysts within the program team and across the Product Development team to manage and continually improve the test practice
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 4 years of experience as a software quality assurance specialist; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of software QA practices in relation to the SDLC
- Strong experience documenting, designing and developing test plans and test strategies
- Experience developing and maintaining automated and performance test scripts
- Experience validating data in enterprise data warehouses from source to target
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL with data quality and data reconciliation experience
- Experience with defect tracking tools, such as JIRA, Quickbase
- Working knowledge of industry best practices in relation to software testing and quality assurance
- Prior experience working with healthcare financial, Epic, Cancer research and revenue cycle systems is strongly preferred

- Must be able to identify, triage, action plan, and resolve or dispatch issues
- Must be able to build and manage relationships with all involved, managing expectations at all levels.
- Must be capable of working independently with limited to no supervision
- Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
