The Center for Molecular Oncology (CMO) at MSKCC is searching for an outstanding Bioinformatics Engineer with an interest in working closely with computational biologists within the CMO to develop and deploy bioinformatic methods and resources relevant to high-throughput next-generation sequencing in the translational cancer biology setting. The focus of this work is the building and maintenance of software tools, pipelines, and resources for integrative analysis of high throughput genomic data, working with software engineers and computational based investigators.

Masters degree or equivalent experience in biological sciences, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or related discipline with a strong quantitative background.
Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing technology and its application in cancer genomics
Proven experience with NGS computational tools and workflows
Strong programming skills and proficiency with scientific computing software and scripting languages
Demonstrated ability to produce well designed, documented, version-controlled code in a team setting
Solid understanding of Linux (or similar operating systems), and desired knowledge of HPC or cloud computing environments
