EDI Senior Software Engineer
The EDI team assists in automating business processes and manages administrative information for MSU units by providing solution design, development, implementation, and system support. The team also consults on vendor selection and implementation for MSU departments and units.
Reporting to the Enterprise Development and Integration Manager, the Enterprise Development and Integration Senior Software Engineer will provide guidance and oversight of the full software development lifecycle. Primary duties for the position include:
Designs technical solutions.
Prepares requirements and technical design documents.
Designs software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
Oversees successful delivery of multiple projects.
Researches, evaluates, and implements improvements to the software development lifecycle.
Mentors and guides the professional development of team members.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in designing, building, and testing Java EE applications; knowledge of popular Java frameworks; experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD); experience designing and building databases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Spring and Struts frameworks; experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle; experience with Red Hat JBoss Application Server; experience with automated testing frameworks; experience with Bamboo or similar CI/CD tools; experience translating requirements between clients and development teams; strong and clear written and verbal communication skills; enthusiastic about giving and receiving feedback.
