Human Resources Manager Work Location: The Parish School (Private) Start date: TBD Full Time (Exempt)
To oversee and directly implement all aspects of Human Resources functions for The Parish School (TPS) and Carruth Center (CC), including employee relations, training and development, compensation, compliance, benefits administration, policy and procedure development, and performance management. Perform all duties demonstrating consistent support of The Parish School’s mission and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides leadership and supervision in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources Office. Implements all applicable personnel laws and regulations. Creates a service-oriented team.
Oversees and manages of human resources system.
Oversees the maintenance of employees’ personnel files.
Supervises the Human Resources Specialists.
Develops Human Resources policies and procedures in support of the TPS/CC culture. Annually updates the school’s Employee Handbook. Oversees communication and delivery of Human Resources Policies to all employees. Discusses any new policies or policy changes with administrative leadership to receive appropriate approvals.
Directs operation of employee benefits programs and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Handles TPS/CC Benefits Administration including plan design, communicating benefits information to employees, and handling general benefits questions from employees.
Review annual IRS Form 5500 returns prior to submission.
Responsible for handling all areas of compliance as they relate to Human Resources. Facilitate conversations with employees and managers regarding their responsibilities with compliance issues. Complete, track and/or file all compliance documentation accordingly.
Oversees and manages all employee relations and conflicts, working closely with department heads. Recommend resolutions and document all incidents
Consults with legal counsel when appropriate and/or when directed by management regarding personnel activities or compliance issues.
Supports TPS/CC payroll process. Communicates with HR Generalist on any changes/adjustments that need to be made in payroll.
Oversees the distributions of W-2s and ACA forms TPS/CC employees.
Administers exit interview process; final payouts, terminates benefits, coordinates COBRA benefits, responds to unemployment insurance claims.
Analyzes, recommends, and coordinate training modules for managers and employees on a regular basis.
Maintains and periodically audits all employee personnel files. Works with department heads regarding access to specific information within the personnel file.
Prepares and coordinates relevant budgets for inclusion in the school budget.
Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work and operates effectively within the organizational structure.
Act as Board Liaison with Board packets, roster as well as communications with the Board Members
Designs and presents the new employee orientation for staff members.
Participates in annual faculty orientation.
Provides all new employees with basic school and clinic information, welcome kit, benefits information, and necessary forms.
Designates system onboarding to HR Generalist
Coordinate first day agenda with hiring manager
Coordinate recruitment activity with all departments. Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of appropriate job descriptions.
Keep all job descriptions current
Recruits and conducts employment screenings
Coordinates interviews with hiring manager
Conducts and reviews all background checks
Negotiates pay and offer letters
Coordinates performance management processes.
Distributes review and performance management forms to supervisors in a timely manner.
Advises supervisors on compliance and applicable policies.
Reviews performance management forms for signatures and completeness.

Competencies & Other Skills/Abilities:
Must demonstrate leadership, managing people, delegation, innovation, initiative, customer service, interpersonal, teamwork, sound judgment, self-management and adaptability skills.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
A minimum of ten (10) of Human Resources experience of which five (5) of those years being at management level.
Human Resources background in the education field strongly preferred.
Highly proficient in MS Office applications. Familiarity with HRIS is preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP designation is strongly preferred
Provides leadership and supervision in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources Office. Supervises the Human Resource Generalist.
