The Heart Center at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a business partner to senior leadership; to drive an effective budgeting and planning process and to support high-level analysis throughout the Revenue Cycle.
This Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible to:
Perform detailed analyses of Hospital Revenue Cycle activity. Review activity for accuracy, completeness, reasonableness, interpret trends or deviations and make recommendations for corrective action.
Review Hospital/physician service contracts and fee schedules, if assigned. Collect data and develop pricing of new programs and services consistent with the hospital's pricing policy, if required in the position. Evaluate financial impact of pricing initiatives.
Design programs/maintain databases to support and/produce various reporting. Contact depts within the hospital to analyze and improve the quality and integrity of the databases and related programs. Develop methodologies and internal reporting systems to gather and compile the required data.
Develop and prepare a variety of ad-hoc reporting, financial models and analyses to senior management.
Work with department managers to educate, advise, interpret the relationship of Revenue Cycle processes to reports; trouble shoot; and resolve problems, including providing written analyses, explanations and interpretations of all aspects of Revenue Cycle, including financial and budgeting.
Research and analyze financial data. Create, organize, and maintain files using business intelligence and spreadsheet programs; retrieve and organize data into reporting formats and identify discrepancies and resolve the inquiries; collect, recommend solutions and ensure that corrections or changes are implemented properly.
To qualify you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience
The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources; apply professional principles to perform various analyses; summarize the information and data in order to solve problems; or design relatively complex systems and programs across a matrix organization
Strong communication oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office applications and/or Business Intelligence systems
