Job Summary The Decision Support Team is within Finance and maintains the Hospital Decision Support and Cost Accounting System, Strata. The data and financial information within this system is highly relied upon across BCH and the team supports an end user base of 70+ users. This data serves as the basis for financial analytics, like Service Line and Payor P&L's, and decision making.
This Healthcare Financial Data Analyst II will be responsible to:
Support and maintain patient and financial data for the Decision Support and Cost Accounting System (Strata), including data quality assurance and advancements of the system and processes
Develop and prepare standard monthly and ad hoc reporting/analysis for management decision; use data visualization tools to help advance analytics
Take active role in finance and data analytic projects across the various functions of the hospital, including meeting with department managers, clinicians, physicians, and business partners
Perform basic to intermediate costing statistics and cost data with hospital wide depts. which serve as the foundation for the hospital's cost management and patient-based profitability reporting
Coordinate and submit external data submissions on a timely/accurate basis; resolve and reconcile any data issues
Maintain collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals
Completes other projects as assigned by manager
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a closely related field and 3 years of related experience in financial analysis in a hospital setting required.
Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel and advanced database skills
Skilled at evaluating financial analytics and understanding content within the data
Knowledge of existing and emerging financial technologies and industry best practices
Strong business acumen with understanding of the organization and various functions
Ability to lead a project team to implement process enhancements/improvements within the dept
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as cohesively with a team
