Job Summary This Professional Billing Analyst will be responsible to:
Use revenue cycle analysis and reporting for clear understanding, monitoring and improving work-flow and processes within multiple PO functions/areas, and assist on day to day problem resolution and troubleshooting.
Produce monthly analytics used to report billing performance to foundation directors and medical chiefs. Analyze revenue cycle trends and maintain statistics for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Keep abreast of changes in payer billing requirements that could potentially impact various foundation specialties.
Improve revenue cycle workflow, efficiency, accuracy, reimbursement, and overall revenue control through operational and system enhancements and/or modifications
Analyze process and business issues to identify best practice solutions. Recommend and implement improvements. Share knowledge and lead teams in process redesign/change management.
Work closely with dept heads, other hospital personnel and executives for the purposes of information gathering to enhance revenue cycle opportunities. Seek opportunities to gather information or knowledge from others outside of the dept
Work closely across enterprise with manager, peers, and leadership sharing critical information and statistical data, while developing procedures for operational improvement on a recurring basis
Extract and complies data from various system sources to develop sound analyses leading to potential revenue cycle opportunities, conduct analyses related to CDM setup, charge capture, billing, and/or collections. Understand end goal of analysis, as a means to project data needs and requirements for timely and appropriate issue escalation or resolution
Utilize appropriate analytical tools to extract, compile and manipulate data for purposes of analysis. Present data in a clear, organized manner. Document sources, specs, and assumptions for all analyses for future reference
Maintain data integrity when manipulating data files for purposes of analysis. Ensure data does not become corrupted in any way when performing analyses, through conscientious use of tools and a system of checks and balances
Check results of queries and reports to ensure it meets with expectations before presenting finalized information. Run data multiple ways when necessary to ensure accuracy of results
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in HealthCare Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a closely related field is preferred and a min of 4 years' related Physician Billing work experience with a primary role relative to Technology, Operations, or Finance is required.
State-of-the-art awareness of billing requirements and technology related to physician billing to resolve problems
Strong knowledge of overall physician billings operations related to healthcare
