The Enterprise Financial Systems Support department is seeking applicants for the Business/Systems Analyst 2 position. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants that are familiar with the Procure to Pay business process and are analytical by nature. The BA/SA 2 is responsible for systems and business process analysis, design, implementation (to include change management), and testing. This position specifically is charged with supporting our Enterprise Financial and HR Systems.
The position will directly support procurement related business processes to include:
- Purchasing (Requisition, Purchase Order)
- Accounts Payable (Voucher and Payments)
- Employee Expense Reimbursement (Travel, Out of Pocket Processing, and Credit Card Reconciliation)
This is a Hybrid Position
The University of Minnesota is currently offering flexible working options. Specifics will be discussed during the interview stage.
Salary range: $68,000 - $80,000, DOQ
We Offer:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities with % of time:
- 25% Production Support
- Activities to resolve production system related issues. Issues could be related to business process, system batch processing or end user identified system issues.
- 20% Analysis, Functional Design
- Analyze and resolve issues that may require application development or a significant amount of research. Functional design documents are written to specify the needed development or process change.
- 10% Testing (Development Life Cycle SDLC Management)
- Testing efforts associated with application development and or system maintenance. System Test and Regression Testing on a monthly release cycle.
- 45% Special Projects
- This comprises activities/projects that could be considered one off or possibly cyclical. Examples of this are:
- Application Upgrade and Planning
- Critical Systems and Infrastructure Patching - Vendor
- Fiscal Year End Processing and System Configuration
- Related Business Process Software Implementation
Project Planning / Team Management
- Includes all efforts to plan and prioritize work and corresponding task assignments. This includes managing changes through identified governance and change management structures.
Required Qualifications (please document on the resume):
- BA/BS degree and two years relevant business or systems experience
Preferred Qualifications (please document on the resume):
- Experience in ERP system support or related business functionality:
- eProcurement
- Purchasing
- Accounts Payable
- Expense
- Business analysis skills and ability to identify solutions to operational issues.
- Previous experience working in an analyst capacity with PeopleSoft, SAP, or other enterprise financial systems.
- Understanding of information needed to support relevant business processes and decisions.
- Ability to produce process documentation.
- Prior accounting experience / knowledge of financial reporting.
- Ability to make presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Previous employment experience in higher education, government, or a public entity.
