Reporting to the Executive Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for revenue cycle project management within central business office focusing on EPIC PB initiatives. As a member of the CBO???s Revenue Cycle Management team, the Project Manager will apply efficient project management methodologies and promote best practice revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
Operations
Facilitate the definition of project scope inclusive of charter, foundational requirements, specifications and actionable tasks
Create project plans, timelines and all supporting documentation
Conduct planning, facilitate work-task estimation, and track/report on the deliverables
Interview project stakeholders/clients to acquire project definitions and priority
Document current and future state workflows
Manage project timelines, tasks and lead interdepartmental project team in successful execution of the plan.
Hold task leads accountable to their commitments
Identify risks/obstacles for project execution, create mitigation plans for each, and escalate to project leadership based on impact and priority
Communicate status/progress to leadership groups to assure key decisions are identified.
Conduct team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
Facilitate retrospectives including collecting and acting upon lessons learned to improve overall efficiency
Technical
Facilitate the build, support, testing, and implementation efforts related to Epic Resolute PB Charging, Billing, Claims, Contracts and other related applications
Serve as operational and technical subject matter facilitator to assigned initiatives, coordinate test script development, end user testing, support application upgrades and project go-lives
Implement methods to identify system requirements of business practices and user workflows
People

Ensures that support is available to help individuals reach goals, obtain resources, and overcome barriers.
Obtain feedback from key stakeholders in departments, central business office & vendors with the goal of impacting revenue cycle performance.
Establish project portfolio and systems optimization roadmap acting as chief liaison between CRO, Departments and EpicTogether Team
Leads and/or participates in various revenue cycle initiatives to maximize reimbursement and collections.
Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with Columbia University Departments, EPICTogether and vendors.
Strategic
Apply expertise and strategic thinking across a portfolio of projects to limit risk and support the organization to reach its broader organizational goals. This includes evaluating short and long-term risks, resources, timelines and program components.
Serve as liaison and work closely with FPO, CRO and Clinical Department leadership to identify and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle performance across the organization.
Communicate key technical elements and key performance indicators used to determine the success of each project.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor???s degree or equivalent related work experience required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience within a multi-facility healthcare system using EPIC
Strong project management skills.
Demonstrated skills in problem assessment, project management, analytical skills, and resolution and collaborative problem solving in complex, interdisciplinary settings.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must be able to create and deliver high-level presentations for senior leadership and other organizational stakeholders.
Strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills, demonstrating tact and sensitivity in stressful situations.
Ability to work collaboratively and promote team building with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population.
Ability to work independently with follow-through and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be a motivated individual with a positive and exceptional work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
Master???s Degree or Masters candidate preferred.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.
Epic Certification in relevant subject areas (Resolute, Clarity, Prelude / Cadence, or other relevant revenue cycle certifications)
Proficiency with physician billing platforms
Previous end-to-end experience in a project management role within an Epic Software implementation, including the full life cycle from planning through go-live and post go-live support
Able to manage remote/virtual project teams across departments in a fast-paced delivery environment
Proficiency in one or more of the following: insurance billing, collections, denials management as it pertains to commercial, managed care, government, managed care lines of business.
