SIS CS Junior Developer
The SIS team uses their technical expertise to maintain and enhance MSU’s Student Information System (SIS), which serves the entire academic community and supports administrative processes critical to the matriculation and graduation of Spartans every year. SIS functions support students throughout their academic journey, from financial aid offers and accessing MSU’s Schedule of Courses to managing enrollment, grade submission and degree conferral.
Reporting to the Associate Director for Administrative Systems, the Student Information Systems (SIS) Campus Solutions (CS) Developer will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing software solutions of moderate complexity in PeopleCode, SQL, and related programming languages to meet functional requirements; resolving system errors or bugs; tuning system efficiency; improving user interface experience; creating database designs; creating API and integration designs; adapting to upgraded software versions in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2; authoring technical specifications; using established IT standards, procedures, and tools including coding standards, version control, code reuse; collaborating closely with functional and business analysts to ensure adequate understanding of problem domain prior to offering technical design and implementing a solution; participating in code reviews to improve code quality; working in a diverse team environment and uphold institutional values of respect, integrity, and inclusion; engaging in continuous learning to improve skills in programming languages like PeopleCode and domain expertise required to support a student information system.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Experience working in a software development team in a higher education environment, specifically in student administration areas related to academic advising, student records, admissions, financial aid, or student accounts; experience with PeopleCode, SQL.
