Financial Analysts onour team provide financial reporting, business decision analysis, financialmodeling and oversee transaction processing t. A significant component of thisrole is responsibility for transaction processing; funding, po set up, andinvoice payment. Additionally, this position will assume responsibility forbudgeting, billing and contract administration. This position supportsthe year end audit accruals and reconciliations.
A Financial Analyst inthe Boston College Facilities Management Department is responsible for analysisrelated to the University's facilities. This analysis can be broken down intothree core focuses: Operations, Capital and Utilities. These duties are timesensitive, critical and have a large impact on University operations andtheir inputs directly correlate with financial reporting.
Requires a solid workingknowledge of the PeopleSoft Enterprise Accounting System.
Enters requisitions, andpays vouchers for all operating units of the Facilities Division. Ability touse PeopleSoft analysis tools, including query, inquiry and reporting tools. Developseffective working relationship and communications with all Facilities Servicesleadership, personnel and vendors.Assists with student employees, distributing work to them and answering theirprocess questions. Takes on special projects as requested, often requiring theuse of Excel and PeopleSoft.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for requisitions, purchase orders, vouchers, billing, and PCards.
- High volume data entry for Operations, Capital and Utilities invoices.
- Address budget funding needs and move funding as necessary to cover invoices.
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Works on ad hoc projects as they arise.
- Manages key relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- This position will assume responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, contract administration.
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- Maintaining, managing and updating data analysis models - Microsoft Excel.
- Prepares and distributes the monthly financial package to the department directors and managers.
- Manages our contract database
- Backup weekly payroll as needed
RequirementsRequirements/Skills:
- Good leadership, communication and human relations skills with professional style necessary.
- Must be able to multitask, be self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Computer and Microsoft Excel literacy is necessary.
- Proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role
- The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and analytical experience, preferably in a similar industry and/or familiarity with our primary systems, PeopleSoft and Kronos.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or Statistics are preferred major fields
Reporting Relationship:
This position reportsdirectly to the Manager of Finance and Operations in the Facilities MgmtBusiness Service Center.
Title and salary commensurate with relevantexperience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
SeniorFinancial Analyst $74,800 - $93,450 - 5 years exp
Financial Analyst - $66,050 - $82,650 - 3-5 years exp
Financial Analyst - $55,550 - $69,450 - 1-3 years exp
