RequirementsMicrosoft Systems Administrator/ Project Manager, Advanced Client Support - University Information Services - Georgetown UniversityJob OverviewThe Microsoft Systems Administrator/ Project Manager functions as a System Admin and Project Manager for Microsoft. They perform ongoing maintenance and improvements to include periodic security reviews, provisioning and deprovisioning of licenses and services, and audits to ensure license compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead desktop and field helpdesk efforts
- Make sure workstations and applications work well in the field and home office
- Maintain and configure our computers, servers, and virtual environment
- Manage Azure/Active Directory and other accounts
- Manage hardware devices including firewalls and phone systems
- Manage vendors and purchasing
- Install and upgrade software. Ensure computers are up to date
- Troubleshoot problems. Prioritize, assess impact, and resolve
- Manage backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery and failover
- Be a go-to technical resource for the University
- Create documentation and conduct training for end users
Work Interactions The
Microsoft Systems Administrator/ Project Manager is an independent contributor who may lead teams and reports to a manager within the customer service division of University Information Services. They work directly with individuals on many levels - faculty and students in academic areas, management and executives in administrative groups; responsible for finding the right stakeholders, key decision makers, and subject matter experts for their projects. They have no direct reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, IT, or sysadmin field
- 5+ years of experience building servers, and virtual environments
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise-level Hybrid Azure/Active Directory Multi-Domain environment Windows Server 2003 through 2019; and experience with creating and troubleshooting Group Policies in said environment
- Experience with Microsoft products: Server 2016/2019, Win 10, and Office 365
- Data Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment
- Experience with Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
- Experience with MCSE or MCSA (2012 or 2016)
- Experience with Terminal Services
Preferred qualifications- Experience coding (PHP / MySQL / JavaScript / HTML / CSS)
- Working knowledge of server hardware and TCP/IP network protocols, SCCM, Windows Registry and DevOps practices
- Experience in programming and scripting languages - PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl)
