The Division of Enrollment Management (EM) is looking for an experienced CRM Administrator and Programmer Data Analyst to join our team. You will work to primarily support the Office of Graduate Programs and the Student Success Center. You will also be a part of a larger EM technology team that supports the needs of all departments within the division.
In addition to your division colleagues, you will work with, Information Technology Services (ITS), Schools/Colleges and other units whose business processes intersect with the operational and data needs of Enrollment Management.
The scope of the job is broad and requires excellent technical and analytical ability, with particular emphasis on data extraction, analysis, application support, and report generation.
- Work with the CRM Architect to implement and maintain the TargetX/Salesforce CRM CRM. Tasks include data mapping, ETL creation and testing, report development, staff training, and routine administration.
- Help conceptualize and enhance communication and application processes in TargetX/Salesforce CRM. Assist in the creation of reports to enhance and build new communication in the CRM.
- Will become familiar with other software products within the division, such as Othot, in order to access the needs and recommend upgrades, renewals, etc.
- Recommend system modifications or changes to hardware/software configurations. Ensure sensitive data is securely maintained by systems and departmental users. Ensure that all systems/software are compliant with University of Michigan information security policies.
- Create reports relating to business processes, software data feeds, and data maintenance.
- Serve as expert technical resource for divisional staff regarding applications. Provide guidance on strategic leveraging of technological tools. Create and maintain system configuration and end user documentation.
- Visit vendors, attend conferences or training, study technical journals, and subscribe to discussion groups to stay current with technological changes. Consult with other university departments as necessary to complete projects. Serve on departmental and university-wide committees and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Train users on CRM and other software usage. May include cross-training of other members of the EM technical team.
- Monitor TargetX/Salesforce CRM and the related systems to ensure data integrity. Use tools to streamline the management of business processes, data extraction, and data transformation/normalization.
- Maintain user accounts/permissions for TargetX/Salesforce CRM for Enrollment Management departments.
- Maintain data connections to existing institutional systems (Banner, data warehouses, etc.) and custom applications (Wordpress website, web applications, Google Forms) to allow bi-directional data-flow between these systems and Salesforce, ensuring the required data transformation is maintained correctly.
- Assist Enrollment Management with the designing, building, and implementation of division-wide solutions.
- Coordinate interfaces between major systems and programs, including web applications with backend databases and running daily data bridge processes.
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement complex program designs, including the creation and maintenance of custom applications and web forms/sites.
- Bachelor’s in related technical or science field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with CRM Systems, specifically TargetX or Salesforce.
- 3-5 years of related professional experience in a technical and/or data support/analysis role.
- Experience working with information tools and database-driven web-based applications.
- Experience in systems analysis and programming, including utilizing various programming languages and databases, such as Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft Access, and Talend.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to interact effectively with colleagues and university personnel with users of varying technological skill levels.
- Demonstrates good organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate problems and take initiative, structuring one’s own activities and using resources in ways that maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Demonstrates good work habits, dependability, punctuality, flexibility, and attendance.
- Experience with Informatica, Axiom, and other API intermediaries
- Experience with Ellucian products, ex: Banner, Degreeworks, ImageNow
- Certified Salesforce Administrator with at least 1 year of experience in that role or equivalent experience.
- Project and change management experience.
- Experience working with a web-based content management system.
- Experience using version control software such as Git.
- Experience with Business Objects and Tableau.
- Experience using Java and R is preferred.
- Familiarity with State and Federal higher education reporting policies is preferred.
- Knowledge of UM-Flint business processes is preferred.
- Experience in decision support and or data mining environments is preferred.
A consistent hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time. However, this is subject to change based upon the duties of the position and the needs of the department.
