Job Description: The Data Analyst supports the mission of the university by assembling and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of Undergraduate Admissions recruitment activities, events, communications, and messaging to help design strategies and allocate resources to successfully recruit an entering class. This position plays a key role in identifying and engaging well-matched prospective students, building a robust applicant pool, and yielding an entering class that achieves our overall recruitment goals.
What We're Looking For
A Bachelors Degree and three years of experience is required. A Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Statistics, Technology, Data Science or Computer Science is preferred.
An active Christian Faith is required.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
Additional Preferred Skills:
Experience working in higher education and with CRM such as Technolutions/Slate.
Experience using PowerBI, SSRS, Tableau, or other BI/visualization tools.
Technical understanding of database design, strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL Server, etc.)
Knowledge of data structures and comfortable with SQL or other database programming language.
Comfortable with handling large quantities of data from multiple sources: Ability to cleanse, join, and manipulate data.
Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, or exposure to data warehouse/data mart architecture a plus.
What You Will Do
Design and build queries, reports, dynamic dashboards, and data visualizations to support admission initiatives, strategies, and decision making across all functional teams. Conduct and deliver timely, accurate, and relevant data analysis on the impacts of our recruitment and engagement efforts on funnel performance.
Bring forth challenges and opportunities present in the data to help guide the recruitment, operations, and marketing teams to capitalize on opportunities and address concerns. Apply advanced analytical skills to interpret patterns and trends. Monitor and illustrate progress towards recruitment goals.
Collaborate with Digital & Print Marketing teams to drive out targeted segmentations for all print, digital, social media, and student portal communications/campaigns while also providing strategic insights to maintain alignment with overall Admissions goals. Responsible for ensuring 100% accuracy in creating all query audiences.
Research and respond to various ad hoc/recurring data requests that support other enrollment management teams and committees, external departments, as well as university leadership. Compile and disseminate information from both internal and external data sources and determine insights impactful to key stakeholders and relevant to university enrollment.
Partner with Marketing Strategy to construct analyses/visualizations to inform and enhance search process, track origin source performance, and maximize campaign effectiveness and budget.
Develop and maintain knowledge of complex admissions procedures, policies, and data structures to provide strategic partnerships with all members of the cross-functional Data & Analytics team to ensure best practices and utilization of most relevant and accurate internal metrics.
