Job Description: Title: Director of Grant Development

General Summary: Under the direction of the Provost or other designee, the Director is responsible for general Grant Office operations, consensus building among staff for grant submissions, generating proposals that support current or new college initiatives in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Director attends meetings regarding College initiatives, works with potential or assigned project directors and grants contract managers to ensure that grants are being implemented in accordance with funding, documentation and programmatic requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches public and private funding opportunities, maintains routine schedule for monitoring public and private postings of Requests for Proposals, and provides timely advice and information to key personnel regarding funding opportunities.
- Initiates meetings, interviews, correspondence and other means to collaborate with faculty, staff, and community representatives to build collaborative partnerships and to obtain the information needed to understand a concept and design and to develop a competitive proposal; communicates with funding agencies to build relationships and to determine criteria that have to be met to develop successful proposals.
- Researches information to support and clarify proposal concepts.
- Writes, edits and submits proposals that include needs analysis, goals, objectives, activities, evaluation strategies, timelines, budget, and supporting data.
- Serves as Perkins Coordinator, including developing the college's five-year plan and annual local plan with input and consultation from college career programs and advisory boards; develops, monitors, and implements improvement plans as required; oversees gender equity requirements; attends relevant meetings and trainings.
- Serves as Development Office lead for the Perkins Career and Technical Secondary Postsecondary Career/Vocational Technical Education Linkage Consortium; collaborates with partners to develop annual plan and to monitor implementation.
- Works with Grant Project Directors and Contract Managers to set-up systems for implementing projects, particularly in the areas of budget, programmatic, documentation and reporting requirements.
- Maintains accurate grants database related to projects and is able to generate reports.
- Assists reporting processes for specific grants, including assisting Project Directors with interim and final reports and renewal applications submitted to funding agencies.
- Provides information on grant-funded programs as requested through internal and external avenues, such as websites, publications; submits pertinent information for publicity or partnership social media.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements:- Master's Degree English, Communications, Education or related academic discipline.
- Any combination of experience in the areas of grant development/writing, grant monitoring, marketing, finance, community relations, fundraising or development equivalent to five (5) years.
- Skilled manager and leader with well-honed relationship-building skills and a commitment to the Middlesex Community College Mission.

- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of word processing, excel, database, and spreadsheet systems.
- Ability to receive and express detailed information through written and verbal communication.

- Experience developing and executing new grant programs and strategies including building program budgets, managing grant program evaluations.
- Ability to work in a team environment and work collaboratively.
- Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation and veterans including those with different levels of academic preparation, varying physical and learning abilities.
Additional Information:This is a full-time, benefitted, Non-Unit Professional position.
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 annually, actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits which include:

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to the Bedford Campus as needed
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire
