Job Description:
The Department of 4-H Youth Development with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for an Education Extension Specialist IIâ 4-H Positive Youth Development Specialist within the Field Team Northeast.
The 4-H Positive Youth Development Education Extension Specialist will provide leadership and develop the capacity of youth, volunteers, and professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate a series of progressive educational programs and learning experiences that work toward achieving the outcomes of effective leadership, productive citizenship, outstanding communication, and successful learning. These outcomes are reached through the Iowa 4-H program priorities of healthy living, STEM, citizenship and leadership, and communication and the arts.  Â

Volunteer Growth and SupportÂ
Staff Support and Training  Â
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals and groups. The candidate will also have the ability to establish partnerships with community leaders. Cooperates with and informs Regional Directors, County Extension Councils, County Extension Staff, Field Specialists, and State Program Leader of their projects and has a positive working relationship with staff and clients in assigned geographic and subject matter areas. Strong organizational skills are also a necessity as this position will be expected to work on multiple projects.
This position will be filled at the Education Extension Specialist II level. The level II position has minimum required qualifications of Bachelorâs degree and 2 years of related experience and is a PS807 pay level. The Field Specialist II will create and deliver comprehensive and complex programming; conduct needs assessment activities; identify and implement innovative ways to meet clientsâ needs; take an active role in the development of interdisciplinary programming; and provide leadership/supervision and subject-matter expertise at the local, area and state level.
This Youth Program Specialist will serve Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Mitchell, Worth Counties as part of a field team. Office location will be based in Cerro Gordo County(Mason City). This position does require travel.
This is a regular with term appointment position(fixed term) that has the opportunity for renewal.
