The Regional Climate Outreach Project Manager will support and coordinate Extension projects that are part of a regional collaborative project of the Midwest Climate Hub and five Extension programs in four Midwest states. They will work closely with the Midwest Climate Hub and project team to leverage and amplify outcomes from regional workshops and existing resources to strengthen two-way communication between local and regional stakeholders. The project is working towards increased Midwest adoption of regionally scalable, climate-smart activities including enhanced adaptation of working lands, better carbon management, and net-zero emissions agriculture.
The Project Manager will support this multi-year regional project focusing on assessing the current application of, and need for, climate-informed agriculture strategies and developing regional theories of change for increasing the adoption of climate-informed best management practices. The project will build a formal partnership between Extension and the Midwest Climate Hub that will leverage resources to create effective communication between local and regional stakeholders and enhance dissemination of climate-informed strategies. The effort will utilize a theory of change framework to develop enhanced climate training for Extension professionals related to adaptation of working lands, carbon management, and carbon sequestration.

Responsibilities:
Manages a single project from start to finish or one phase of a large project under limited supervision.
30% Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues
5% Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
5% Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met
30% Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
30% Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones

Education:
Required Master's Degree with degree focus and/or course work related to the responsibilities of this position such as climate science, agriculture, educational program development, social science research methods, etc.
Qualifications:
