The Fixed Income team manages over $500 billion for institutions, high net worth individuals and mutual fund investors. Our global investment process is coordinated across geographic regions with representation in New York, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney and China. The Government/Swap team is a portfolio management and trading team within GSAM Fixed Income with responsibility for executing developed market interest rate derivatives, government bond and futures trades across GSAM portfolios as well as identifying and implementing relative value strategies using these products. The team currently has a presence in London, New York and Singapore and is looking to hire in London at a junior level.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Cash management, duration hedging, portfolio rebalancing and associated tasks on a daily basis
Data and portfolio integrity management
Portfolio construction, execution and management of trades for developed market interest rate strategies
Provision of market colour and dynamics to the global team
Driving innovation through process enhancements
Development and management of market counterparty relationships
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Strong academic track record
Relevant investment management or sell-side experience of 1-2yrs
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Highly motivated with drive, determination and enthusiasm to excel in a trading role
Attention to detail
Demonstrable interest in financial markets
Time management and organisational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for excellence, integrity and collaboration
Ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Global Fixed Income Portfolio Management Team
Familiarity with interest rate derivative products and pricing is an advantage but not essential
