The
Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for payroll processing for monthly and biweekly payroll periods, and for addressing payroll inquiry and tax issues accordingly. Additionally, they respond to daily payroll inquiry from staff, resolve/close payroll tickets within Freshservice software, and assist with project testing and implementation as needed.
They input accurate information for prompt payments to employees, key data without error, and interact with staff throughout the University community to ensure employees are paid timely. As well, they resolve payment issues that may arise, and expertly cross train on all functional roles of the payroll team to ensure complete coverage as required by the university.
Work InteractionsReporting to the Director of Payroll, the
Senior Payroll Analyst provides a full range of support to the University community. They apply an analytical approach to ensure timely and accurate payments to all employees; and maintain familiarity and knowledge of not only all aspects of payroll responsibilities, but also of federal, state, local legislation, IRS regulation, and the Workday management system.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of experience HCM and processing complete payroll in Workday and HCM - full cycle payroll processing, beginning to settlement
- 5+ years of payroll tax experience
- Ability to reconcile quarter and year-to-date W2 and W2c information
- Ability to execute audit functions via excel prior to payroll completion
Preferred qualificationCertified Payroll Professional
