A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SR PROJECT MANAGER
As a 100% work from home Sr. Project Manager, you play an essential role in helping our growing company lead and support multi-stakeholder teams providing public health informatics solutions on a national scale. You will develop and maintain project management plans and schedules to track activities needed to meet project goals and objectives. These activities may include management of human resources, budgets, schedules, and collaborative tools, and facilitation of highly technical discussions.
In addition to experience in technical project management and directing multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment, you will have advanced technical training or experience in Health Informatics. Experience in the healthcare and public health arena is highly desirable. The job can sometimes be challenging and involve working under tight deadlines, but you aren't afraid to push yourself.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SR PROJECT MANAGER
- Prefer a degree in informatics, health information technology, or public health health/laboratory or related field
- Prefer PMP Certification or Project Management certification or formal training
- Require a minimum of 5 years relevant on the job experience or advanced technical training or experience in health informatics OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading software/application development projects using the Agile/Scrum methodology
- 5 years of demonstrated experience with cost accounting, planning, organizing, staffing, reporting, coordinating, and directing all aspects of a project from inception through completion
- Experience with implementing IT initiatives in a federal agency environment
- Previous experience leading large systems development or data exchange projects implementing projects using structured methodologies
- Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly build and sustain strong customer relationships through superior delivery and bringing innovative thinking
- Experience with public health is strongly desired
- Experience using Project Management Institute (PMI) processes and tools
- Experience with software development and system implementation projects
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams
- Demonstrated experience developing project management tools and artifacts such as: project charter, schedule, work breakdown structure, risk matrix, project management plan, etc.
- Knowledge about Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Office, including Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
Familiarity engaging project stakeholders and assisting with project management, tracking, collaborative tools and templates to ensure project goals are met. Able to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration with stakeholders to successfully accomplish project requirements is preferred, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
