About the School of Information Technology
The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. It is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 18% annually and currently serves more than 1,500 students with 24 full-time faculty members, 22 full-time staff, and 30 part-time faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Center.

About the Job
The School of Information Technology seeks to hire a Program Manager whose principle workload will be to support the SoIT Workforce Development initiative. Through its Workforce Development programs, SoIT offers many pathways for learning reskilling and upskilling, through on campus and on demand programs that lead to industry-recognized certifications. The Workforce development programs are taught by SoIT faculty and combine hands-on, experiential instruction with essential coursework to prepare today's workforce for careers in the diverse space of Information Technology and Cybersecurity. The Program Manager will work with SoIT faculty and staff, as well as internal and external partners, to support the development and delivery of these programs in alignment with the SoIT's strategic plan, CREATE 2.0.
Under general supervision from the SoIT Leadership, the Program Manager will plan and manage the School's Workforce Development initiative. The essential functions will include coordinating the development of new workforce development programs; working with industry partners to schedule custom programs; supporting existing programs through recruiting, registering, and providing support to participants; facilitating the administration of industry-recognized certification exams; and other tasks as assigned. This position requires collaborative effort with various stakeholders including, but not limited to, SoIT team, University partners, industry partners, and the general public. In addition, the Program Manager will develop operational standards and procedures in partnership with the Workforce Development Cross Functional Team.
Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs. Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
Implement policies and procedures.
Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations.
May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Three (3) years of experience in program development or business administration.
May require supervision experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Degree at the bachelor or master's levels.

Project management certifications.
Experience working on workforce development projects.
