Job Summary:
The Director of Organizational Development and Training is responsible for developing and implementing LYNX’s overall learning strategy. This position sets the direction and designing strategies for training initiatives for all levels of employees at LYNX and is also responsible for driving an integrated compliance learning environment and talent development process that emphasizes a culture of learning and engagement.

- Collaborate with senior management to design and implement leadership and professional development programs, processes, and practices that align the organization’s vision and strategies and ensure quality leadership.
- Develop, market, and implement comprehensive and cohesive curriculums for leadership and management development.
- Align organizational/management development with overall business strategy and needs.
- Direct, develop, and deliver organizational effectiveness and training programs to improve work performance and meet LYNX’s business objectives.
- Develop, administer, and evaluate training and development policies, programs, methods, materials, and techniques.
- Ensure the quality performance and delivery of training and development program outputs and deliverables.
- Analyze and evaluate performance metrics, delivery methods, and related processes to ensure training and development programs adhere to appropriate organizational development theory and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Facilitate individual and team growth through improving communication channels and providing comprehensive and integrated training and development programs
- Oversee training/learning team and ensure content and coordination is effective to meet all relevant departmental and organizational needs.
- Oversee and establish relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs.
- Provide engaging communications about training programs to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training.
- Train instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, such as new hire orientation, on-the-job training, management development, and adaptations to needed refreshers or changes in policies, procedures and technologies.
- Research and write grant proposals for training programs.
- Design and facilitate succession planning, talent review, and leadership development programs.
- Partner with cross-functional LYNX leaders to identify skills gaps, training opportunities and to develop/deliver training and development solutions.
- Design and deliver solutions that include a blended approach to learning such as coaching, experiential learning, and computer-based learning.
- Develop and manage annual departmental budget.
- Develop new training and development standards to support LYNX’s overall mission and organizational goals.
- Direct activities of company-wide training staff and departmental activities to ensure product quality through best operational processes and practices.
- Create and communicate an overall vision for LYNX’s training and development program(s), setting goals and recommending organizational changes to achieve these goals
- Focus training and development initiatives on a pro-active rather a reactive structure.
- Supervise, coach, counsel, discipline, evaluate, and motivate training staff.
- Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned.
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Organizational Development, Business/Public Administration, Management, the Social or Behavioral Sciences or a closely related field plus ten years of increasingly responsible employee and development experience, of which five years must have been in a supervisory/management capacity.
- Additional directly related experience beyond the minimum required may substitute for the required education on the ratio of one year of experience for each year of education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or graduate-level certificate program in one of the above disciplines
- Training and/or HR certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Experience and knowledge with adult-learning concepts, training and development theories and techniques, and organization development.
- Extensive experience in all facets of employee development and management training (design, delivery, and measurement), managing internal client relationships at all levels of an organization, writing and administering training programs.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Knowledge of personal computers and applicable learning management software, as well as current software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and databases.
- Ability to think strategically and understand business plans, and to relate those plans to organization development strategies.
- Ability to reason logically and creatively and utilize a variety of analytical skills and sound problem?solving techniques in pursuit of organizational goals.
- Ability to translate specific organizational needs into curriculum and differentiate between needs which can be met through training and those which require other approaches.
- Ability to provide consulting services to departments/divisions.
- Ability to effectively supervise and evaluate the work of others.
- Ability to determine the most efficient and cost-effective utilization of internal and external organizational development intervention resources.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality as related to employee issues.
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
Salary Range: $86,070 - $130,000 annually, depending on qualifications
