To use in-depth understanding of and expertise in financial systems and business processes to review system changes required to meet university, local, state and federal regulations. To research and analyze current financial systems and/or data needs and to determine appropriate analytical strategies. To translate requests for IT systems and to facilitate the design and implementation of new business and system processes. To coordinate with IT, hardware/software vendors and senior administration to facilitate the prioritization, analysis, development, testing and implementation of system enhancements and system upgrades for Financial Affairs and UAB. To communicate and interact with a wide range of personnel to ensure the successful implementation of system changes through the full work cycle. To serve as mentor for subordinate staff. To provide support for system functionality, train staff across the organization and create/maintain system documentation as needed. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. This is a top level technical support position.
This position also requires Oracle EBS A/R and Projects experience with Grants module emphasis. This applicant will operate as part of an integrated team frequently interacting with UAB Financial Affairs management and staff. The successful applicant will also need to be skilled in the following areas: system problem analysis and resolution, business process design, integrated ERP testing, and complex report development.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
This is a senior level role and requires someone with an understanding of Oracle. We can train the way we use Oracle, but candidates will need an Oracle foundation already and preferably someone with Oracle Grants experience.
Candidates with knowledge of Oracle will be ideal for this role.
