The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
- Driver’s license

Location: Under the current OUC Hybrid work program, this position has the flexibility to work from home and the office.

Job Purpose:
Design, estimate, and manage electrical distribution projects to supply electric service to new and existing customers while protecting OUC’s interest to remain reliable, safe, and affordable.
Primary Functions:
· Prepare designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and documents for Electric Distribution Projects;
· Manage Electrical Distribution projects from development stage through completion;
· Design conduit and electric cable layouts in AutoCAD;
· Review Electrical plans for new projects;
· Analyze civil and electrical plans for each project;
· Estimate all materials associated with each project in EnterpriseOne;
· Resolve conflicts with multiple parties in the completion of projects (i.e. customers, contractors, governmental agencies, and OUC employees);
· Inspect Distribution Infrastructure installed properly by OUC Contractor as well as private contractors before final engineer approval;
· Train new Engineers hired in the Electric Engineering Department;
· Develop and review new/existing department software and estimating tools to be used in the department;
· Accept inbound and makes outbound calls to customers, contractors, and developers;
· File all designs and plans associated with each project for record keeping;
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements:
· Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
o OUC Electric Service and Metering Installation Requirements;
o Electric Construction Standards (Overhead/Underground);
o Right of Way Permitting (Florida Department of Transportation/City of Orlando/Orange County);
o National Electric Code;
o National Electric Safety Code (NESC);
· Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:
o Electrical Drawings, Technical Drawings;
o Diagrams and Maps (i.e. Geographic Information System [GIS]);
o Estimate Reports;
o Meter Readings;
o Equipment (i.e. Wood stakes, paint, hammer, measuring tape, socket wrench, iPhone, Company Radio System);
o Cost model and quote sheets for chargeable projects;
o Software applications (i.e. EnterpriseOne, ePETS, AutoCAD, Cable pulling program, small network printers to larger plotters);
o Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws;
· Calculate Fault Currents of pad-mounted transformers, amperage on both sides of a transformer to size wiring, and voltage drop;
· Understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records;
· Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages;
· Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).

Working Conditions:
This job may be exposed to very frequent risks of electrical shock. This job may occasionally be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
This job requires standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, repetitive motions, reaching over head, climbing (i.e. stairs, hills, ladders, etc.), and may lift up to ten (10) pounds. This job requires speaking and hearing, typing, writing, detailed inspection, and may drive a company vehicle.
