Job Description:

This position exists to provide technical expertise to data integration development that support the development and ongoing operation of the Minnesota State Enterprise Integration suite which supports administrative business processes for 31 institutions and approximately 350,000 students. This position provides technical and analytical skills to project teams and has broad knowledge in the integration technologies used by Minnesota State System Office IT and the associated development process rigor. This position understands architectures for integrations and participates in complex integration analysis, design, and development.
Required Qualifications:

- Three (3) years of progressive experience in software development in an enterprise environment using multiple technologies including data integration development using integration tools and SQL for relational databases, OR
- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience developing data integrations that are implemented as an Application Programming Interface (API) as well as developing integrations that leverage APIs.
- Understanding of the nature and operation of the components of the architecture in which a data integration is built and deployed, including the server O/S and software environments, database and file systems, network structures, distributed application constructs, and security characteristics, sufficient to design, build, and maintain enterprise integrations.
- Understanding of the principles of application security in the data integration environments and of how to apply those principles to coding and testing practices sufficient to design and build secure enterprise integrations.
- Experience with data classification and knowledge of how various classifications of data affect the security of integrations.
- Technical skills sufficient to participate in design and development efforts on high technology projects and to mentor the work of other colleagues involved in the projects.
- Experience with software testing tools and techniques sufficient to establish robust testing strategies for enterprise integrations.
- Experience with change management sufficient to understand and adhere to integration development and deployment processes (software development life cycle).
- Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to work successfully with a diverse audience (administrative, technical, and academic).
- Ability to interact with multiple and diverse groups of people and a commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technologies
- Experience with a variety of computing devices and web browsers and knowledge of their operating characteristics
- Knowledge of federal, state, agency, and industry accessibility standards and guidelines
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Mac OS
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Understanding of project management principles
- Understanding of statutes and policies regarding data privacy and practices
- Experience working in an Agile Development Environment
