This is a year long internship opportunity for Amwins Access Division in the Birmingham, AL office. This internship will start out as a full-time position during the summer months then transition into a clerical and technical support position working 5 – 10 hours a week.
Preparation of quotes, cover notes, binders, certificates, policies and tax filings
Sorts and prioritizes work flow
Process and distribute mail
Checks and verifies for accuracy all completed documents
Verifies underlying documentation
Understands the suspense and renewal systems, clearing of accounts and invoicing
Administration and coordination of internal processing and servicing of clients’ needs
Reviews audits for accuracy
Set up files
Type correspondence as may be required
All other duties as assigned
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills - i.e. prioritization, time management, multi-tasking, decision making, and timely delivery of meaningful results
Able to effectively work both collaboratively within a group, as well as independently
Able to think critically and drive for differentiated results. Has an attitude of ownership for results and outcomes
Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative
While the Amwins is open to students across all majors, strong consideration will be given to candidates who have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, as demonstrated through coursework, campus clubs, or community organizations, preferably in leadership roles.
Enrolled in a four-year College or University at time of application
Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and currently in good academic standing within school
Able to travel to our Birmingham, AL office on a daily basis
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
