This Business Analyst for Department of Pediatric Medicine will be responsible to:
Prepare designated departmental/program budgets, including operating, capital equipment and special/grant funds, in accordance with established guidelines. Collect and compile related data and prepares cost and revenue projections
Assist in administration of departmental funds. Oversee processing and recording of fund disbursements and receipts, ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Monitor and reconcile budget and identifies and resolves variances. Recommend, implement and maintain related internal systems, procedures and controls.
Administer designated department supply and equipment inventories. Evaluate and recommend selection of vendors and develop, implement and evaluate inventory par levels. Review and authorize purchase of designated supplies, equipment and services within established budget allocations.
Provide decision support for department strategic and program planning and development. Collect and analyze department statistics, identify, interpret and communicate trends and prepare recommendations to achieve specified goals and objectives. Advise management on issues and prepares special reports and analyze as requested.
Administer, enforce and communicate hospital and departmental personnel policies and procedures. Initiate personnel forms and documents, oversee preparation of payroll timesheets and maintain related files and records. Advise department managers/principal investigators on proper application of policies/procedures and facilitate resolution of related issues and problems.
Communicate with other hospital departments, including HR, Finance, Research Admin and Purchasing, in order to discuss and resolve administrative and financial issues/problems and monitor and follow‑up on purchase orders, grant applications and/or other business transactions
Provide support and consultation to department managers, principal investigators and others in budget/grant preparation and management
Prepare periodic reports and documents for funding and regulatory agencies and other external organizations as required
Work with our reporting/budgeting software, Cognos and will be responsible for training users
Maintain and train the scheduling software
To qualify, you must have:
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or a closely related field and 1 year of previous experience or internships
The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based cross‑functional knowledge
