IHME Client Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Analyst to join their team.
IHME Client Services is seeking candidates for an Analyst to generate Population Health Intelligence. Using quantitative skills, the Analyst will support the expansion of our product portfolio to include data and tools that meet the specific needs of organizations across a range of sectors, including philanthropy, insurance, technology, financial services, and life sciences.
This role can be fully remote with travel to Seattle and to client offices worldwide.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Become familiar with IHME software and code within several key programs of work at IHME, including, but not limited to, the Global Burden of Disease, future health scenarios (forecasting), disease expenditure, clinical informatics, and simulation.
Understand client needs and determine how best to match them against IHME’s internal competencies and expertise.
Analysis and intelligence generation
Support analytic strategy for answering client requests, including: •data extraction, formatting, and transformation. •construction and maintenance of databases. •documenting, testing, and performing source control while following best practices.
Support the development and implementation of statistical/machine learning models for a range of tasks, including but not limited to: •forecasting health outcomes such as mortality, incidence, and risk exposure. •breaking down diseases into finer levels of granularity. •predicting optimal pricing of data bundles.
Generating health intelligence from data analyses to help guide decision-making in areas including: •priority setting. •clinical trial planning. •resource allocation. •safety assessments.
Contribute to the creation of intuitive data visualizations for analytic results.
Assess databases that house relevant input data and recommend how best to use them.
Client support and deliverable production
Contribute to Client Services project work streams in problem solving and developing project deliverables, both from IHME headquarters in Seattle as well as client sites in the US and abroad.
Produce technical documentation, summaries of data searches, client presentations, and training presentations.
Guide and support the development of a training program for technical staff in private sector organizations.
Communicate clearly and effectively while contributing as a productive team member.
Work closely with other team members to help them with relevant tasks, show them how to learn new skills, and help resolve emerging problems on different projects.
Exercise strong independent judgment in day-to-day responsibilities.
Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the reasonable scope of this position as member of the team.
Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics, or other quantitative field, plus two years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Experience and interest in scientific software development in R and Python.
Facility with analytic tasks and ability to participate productively in interdisciplinary teams.
Strong sense of focus and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities to deadlines.
Demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a highly creative, entrepreneurial environment.
Fluency in English is essential. Working knowledge of an additional language is desirable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This role requires travel up to 20% of the year, including international travel. As such, the candidate must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport.
All Client Services staff work under annual contracts, which are renewed based on performance. Under these contracts, staff may earn a yearly incentive bonus based upon revenue targets being achieved during the year.
IHME Client Services is headquartered in Seattle, but team members are free to work remotely anywhere in the United States as long as their working hours can reasonably overlap with others on the team.
Team meetings are conducted virtually.
We provide funds for each team member‘s ongoing professional development.
