Le Moyne College, a Jesuit Catholic College of 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students in Syracuse, NY with a $100 million operating and capital budget is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Finance and working closely with the VP of Finance and Administration, the Associate Provost, the Director of Institutional Research, the Senior Director of HR, and the Finance staff. The Budget Director/Senior Budget Analyst is responsible for preparing, developing and executing the operating budget under the guidance of the Assistant Vice President for Finance and the Vice President of Finance and Administration.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Responsible for monthly and quarterly budget variance reports, improving and maintaining a 5-year budget model, forecasting and performing scenario analyses, reviewing pricing of educational programs and degrees, and developing unit-based RCM (P&L) statements for certain programs.
Establish and load budget accounts in Datatel and monitor and make budget adjustments during the year.
Work with the AVP Finance, CIO, Senior Director of HR to help lead the implementation of a new enterprise finance and HR system (ERP).
Analyze anomalies, reserve balances, and determine action to be taken to balance accounts
Identify and interpret sources of relevant data for use in budget formula calculations and comparisons
Develop and conduct presentations in support of budgetary analysis and provide recommendations
Research and respond to inquiries and develop issue papers.
Implement and maintain current year operating budgets for the division including reviewing and processing budget transfers and journal entries in budget ledgers
Completes adjustments as needed of non-payroll cost transfers to reallocate funds and to correct errors
Work with a wide variety of campus offices on integrating financial data, transactions, contracts, grants, and gifts into a more integrated budget system
Monitor and reconcile budgets, accounts and rosters and review related activities for compliance with established policy and procedure.
Serve as a liaison between campus budget personnel and the Finance/Budget Office.
Supports coordination of sponsored proposals for completeness through collection and consolidation of all required documents, including tracking and follow up through submission and acceptance
Guide financial processes by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a budget role or equivalent position with progressively responsible duties required.
Master's degree in business, accounting, public administration or other related fields strongly preferred
Experience using a major ERP system such as Workday and performing queries.
Experience in converting from one ERP system to another with respect to business process design, business needs analysis, and creation of reports is strongly preferred
