The Meridian Business Development Manager (BDM)’s primary role is to assist current or potential customer in solving business problems through the use of Arista’s many solutions. This position will hunt for opportunities to serve customers, helping them select and leverage Meridian Cooperative’s enterprise solutions, resulting in expanded relationships and the generation of sales/revenue from new and existing member/customers. Business Development Managers work and collaborate with Relationship Managers, Product Managers, Marketing, and Sales Operations to bring compelling value propositions to customers and contribute to the development and growth of long-term member/customer relationships. BDMs represent and are knowledgeable about all our family of companies’ business solutions while specializing with deep expertise in one or two business solutions. The BDM embodies an, “I succeed by helping you succeed,” orientation with customers and teammates. BDMs generate leads, pursue opportunities, manage the sales process, close deals and generate revenue.
Role & Responsibilities:
Ability to focus on new accounts and new cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
Must understand the print and mail industry, regional business influences, individual company or utility goals and KPIs uncovered through research to be highly effective in outreach campaigns.
Expected to develop and implement territory and account plans and a strategy to grow relationships and revenue.
Ability to sell enterprise solutions
Ability to meet and exceed clear sales targets and goals.
Develop overall business strategy and use cases through a high-level technical knowledge of all solutions, leveraging product owners to provide in-depth knowledge in one or more product lines.
Effectively grow, manage, and forecast the pipeline accurately and report to senior management the expectation of revenue growth as a commitment that can be relied upon.
Reports issues and/or new functionality acting as liaison to executives at the utility to executive sponsors.
Expected to establish the ROI around the proposed solutions and determine/uncover additional business issues that can be resolved by expanding the use of the Meridian Co-op platform.
Leverages and collaborates with the Business Development Operations and Relationship Management staff.
Expected to share innovative ideas based upon the business needs uncovered during discovery.
Travel to customer sites when necessary.
Responsible for integrating and/or maintaining customer information and contacts across several platforms, including third party software and internal systems.
Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
Represent the company at conferences and networking events.
Adheres to all Meridian Cooperative corporate policies and procedures.
Travel as required.
Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
Bachelor’s Degree with 5-6 years of Business Development experience.
