At Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, our mission is to build global business knowledge and inspire ethical leaders to serve the common good. Our Undergraduate Program Office staff collectively advise 1300 undergraduates pursuing six different majors and a variety of minors, fellowships, and joint programs in the Bachelor of Science degree portfolio.
Job Overview
The Assistant Director of Student Development and Leadership Programs manages the McDonough School of Business student leadership portfolio, including pre-orientation, orientation, wellness, peer mentoring, and leadership programs. Accordingly, they cultivate and maintain a thorough understanding of the McDonough undergraduate curriculum and co-curriculum, as they relate to student success and holistic leadership growth.
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Student Success, the Assistant Director of Student Development and Leadership Programs interacts frequently with approximately 10 other Assistant, Associate, and Vice Deans, as well as the Dean's Office administrative staff, McDonough School Area Coordinators, the Center for Student Engagement, and external partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or significant administrative experience
1 to 3 years of work experience in a complex office environment - preferably an academic administrative office
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and set priorities
Strong orientation to detail
Strong problem-solving skills and a high aptitude for analytical thought
Ability to work well under pressure and function as a team player
Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student population
Excellent communication skills
Experienced with oversight of student clubs and organizations
Ability to plan and conduct short-term and long-term training focused on student development and success
Preferred qualification
Familiarity with Jesuit higher education
