The Associate Director of Development Operations is responsible for coordinating and managing the planning and execution of all events for the Office of Development & Engagement (ODE). ODE's constituents represent the most involved and invested in the Kelley School of Business. It is crucial to maintaining their relationship with the School that ODE provides an unparalleled VIP experience at all of our events.
This position will be responsible for the planning and execution of Kelley School of Business Alumni Association board events, Kelley Dean's Council events, Family Leadership Council events, Distinguished Corporate Partner events, other donor and alumni events, and internal department events (e.g. staff retreats, all-staff meetings, donor visits, etc.).
Works closely with all programs within ODE (alumni engagement, annual fund, corporate engagement, parent engagement, international advancement, major gifts, and stewardship) to determine event needs and ensure that appropriate venues, vendors, speakers, and programs are fully executed to the satisfaction of the ODE program, internal partners, and external constituents (donors and alumni).
Develops and maintains relationships with Kelley, University, IU Alumni Association, and IU Foundation partners as well as external partners (vendors, caterers, venues, etc.) to ensure that events are reflective of the Kelley School's reputation and the VIP constituents to which ODE caters.
Assists other members of the Development Operations team as needed. These other duties may include content editing, proofreading, conducting donor and prospect research, data entry, and secretarial tasks.
Serves as liaison to key stakeholders in public and private sectors on partnership opportunities advancing institutional initiatives.
Initiates and maintains frequent interactions with relevant partners ensuring strong collaborative relationships and focus.
Develops knowledge of issues and needs of initiatives, programs and partners to make appropriate connections with university and external resources.
Serves as a community resource facilitating programs, providing technical assistance, and ensuring communication to optimize project outcomes.
Collaborates with university and external partners to identify funding needs and potential sources; participates in developing external funding proposals with education and outreach component.
Communicates partner expectations with unit leadership to assist in operationalizing project outcomes; collaborates in the timely delivery of logistical, budgetary, and support functions.
Determines and tracks key project metrics and assists in analysis and report development.
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience in outreach, engagement, public relations, or related field

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
