The Software Architect Development Manager will play a crucial role in the growth of Brightway Insurance. This person will lead the design effort on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Will lead a group and manage developers within the IT department
Develop designs and oversee the implementation of .Net applications and API services with SQL back end. Establish software best practices, design and analyze requirements and specifications and develop production migration procedures.
Develop and maintain precise system documentation, architectural standards, and best practices
Initiate and create enterprise strategies and designs for system applications and security that align with the goals of the team, and Brightway.
Collaborate in the development and deployment of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
Analyze enterprise system performance with the goal of designing and implementing system performance improvements.
Participate in development activities including code reviews, as well as coding and testing of new enhancements.
Maintain high standards of quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
Analyze and resolve complex technical and application problems.
Assess opportunities for application and process improvements.
Adhere to well-defined, high-quality architecture principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
Research and evaluate a variety of software/technology products and drive adoption of new technology where required
Ability to work remote, on eastern standard time zone hours, required to attend home office leadership meetings monthly, in Jacksonville, FL.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science, or related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience with Enterprise software development to include 2 years of experience working in an architecture capacity within an enterprise development organization.
Skills, Licenses, Certifications
Significant experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
Proficient with Microsoft .NET development using C#
In depth knowledge and experience with core Microsoft technologies including .NET Core and MVC
Experience with front end development frameworks such as Angular 6+ or React (preferred)
Experience designing, integrating, and implementing REST based APIs
Experience with security protocols and frameworks such as OAuth2
Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
Ability to multi-task and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Have MSSQL and relational database design
Agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
Multi-threading and concurrency
Working knowledge of multiple programming languages, client-side technologies, various design patterns, implementation, and testing tools.
Able to debug, performance profiling and optimization
Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
Experience with RPA software such as Blue Prism or similar is a plus
Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
