The International School of Portland (ISP) is an independent, coeducational, language immersion IB day school for 350 students, Pre-K (3-year-olds) -Grade 5. The mission of the School is to inspire children to become global citizens through an inquiry-based learning environment of total immersion in multiple languages and cultures. It is located just south of downtown Portland, Oregon on the edge of the Waterfront District, making this close-knit campus with outdoor playground areas attractive to families on both sides of the river.
The centrally located campus provides an urban environment where students benefit from easy access to the Oregon Ballet, the Portland Japanese Garden, the Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Portland Art Museum, and so much more! The School itself functions in five buildings, the most recent being Learners' Hall, which houses classrooms, a faculty lounge, and some offices.
For 30 years, ISP has provided a warm, multicultural environment where children experience full language immersion from preschool through Grade 5 in three language tracks: Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese.
Small classes and an inquiry-based, International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum enable the students to acquire language fluency and cultural competence as they learn to pursue knowledge beyond the classroom and throughout life. The engaging and robust academic program is taught primarily by native speakers from around the world.
Today, our school is actively recruitingfor the position opening of Events Coordinator/Development Assistant. Ideally, this position will begin effective immediately. We are seeking a development professional who will be adept at supporting a strong Development Team; building community engagement through the philanthropic process , collaborating effectively alongside all departments, while developing a strong culture of philanthropy. We are seeking someone who is excited to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have successful experience working with a culturally diverse community.
This is a full-time hourly position supporting the ISP Development Department. The Events Coordinator & Development Assistant coordinates development events and logistics and serves as administrative assistant to the Development Department. As a part of the Development Team, the Events Coordinator & Development Assistant works to ensure that all department performance goals are met. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to campaign coordination, event planning and logistics, donor outreach and stewardship, and data and reporting.

Compensation and Benefits:
$22.00- $24.50 per hour, Depending on Experience

Preferred Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Any other combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the candidate is likely to possess the skill, knowledge, ability and trait characteristics essential for this position may be considered.
Minimum of 1 year experience with events, fundraising administrative support, or equivalent experience
Previous event planning experience, preferably large-scale auctions or other fundraisers
Project management experience, demonstrating ability to effectively navigate competing priorities and meet deadlines
Experience successfully organizing, managing and communicating with volunteers
1-3 years experience in an administrative setting, preferably at an educational institution or nonprofit
Experience soliciting donations
Experience with Google Suite (gmail, google docs, google calendar, google slides) Experience with graphic design/publications software (Adobe Creative suite)
Experience with development database (Giftworks, Salesforce, Blackbaud, or other)
Experience being culturally-responsive in an international community including diverse cultures and languages.
