Job Summary As part of the Enterprise Business Systems Vendor Systems Team, assists with daily support, implementation, technical configuration, and administration of the hospital's administrative systems. Performs analysis on routine projects and processes with limited scope and complexity or components of larger projects as assigned. Assists in the smooth implementation of project plans.
This Applications Development Specialist will:
Assist in the support, maintenance, and administration of administrative systems in partnership with internal and vendor resources. Support business process and technology. Test assumptions and data.
With the guidance of senior team members support the Enterprise Business Systems application administrators in performing application support, system testing, system implementations, business process improvements, system upgrades, and end user engagement improvement initiatives.
Provide internal team documentation on supporting technical system processes, data flow, controls and interfaces for administrative systems. Provide analytical and technical support to team members and end users.
Gather and analyze customer requirements. Draft clear and concise functional design documentation. Draft and executes testing plans and scripts.
Run reports or queries, configure applications, perform impact analysis, and assist with presentation development to users and leaders.
Support the customer and Enterprise Business Systems team using technical skills.
Write initial drafts of documentation for new and existing processes, programs, applications and workflow. Bring questions about documentation to senior staff.
Troubleshoot and resolve reported system and application problems in the test and production environments. Resolution may require coordinating functional and technical resources (Technical Administrator, Interfaces, Operations, System Managers, Networking etc.) in the investigation, analysis and solution.
Serve as the first contact between other IT teams and the end user community pertaining to production issues, training issues, or changes related to system enhancements. Conduct analysis to determine root cause and resolution of issues. Guide end users through diagnostic procedures in order to resolve issues. Work with technical teams, vendors, and coordinates the resolution of problems. Escalate issues and proposed changes to supervisor.
Follow prescribed methodologies for all project implementations. You may work on multiple implementations at any given time.
Cover required on-call coverage responsibilities.
In order to qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through a completion of a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Windows and Unix OS skills, MS-SQL, Oracle, and HL7 experience are helpful, but not required
