The Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation is seeking a Business Analyst to develop and maintain an understanding of department or unit-level needs and their alignment with business goals and objectives. This position assesses the business needs of subject matter experts and translates them into functional requirements that are documented in specifications, business process flows and analysis tools and helps evaluate past and current department-level or unit-level business processes and data to improve decision-making capabilities.

The Business Analyst bridges a unit within the Office of Institutional Advancement dedicated to CRM development and implementation and multiple unitswithin Enrollment Management. The ideal hire should have familiarity with processes and data points related to the full student engagement cycle, as well as a thorough understanding of the Salesforce, Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloudcapabilities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Working to better understand the problems and needs of departments through interviews, business process mapping, surveys, workflow analysis, etc.
Helping create specifications for new business process designs based on examinations of current processes, including information gains from clients, system analysts and other stakeholders for review and approval.
Working between departments to identify system requirements and project scope, create/suggest solution design and help implement design.
Collaborating with solution architects on solution design options to ensure compliance with supported technology (i.e. Salesforce).
Gathering and analyzing routine data and other pieces of information to help support key recommendations and reporting on project progress to team leadership and other based on a defined schedule.
Continually developing and standardizing repeatable processes related to objects and data in Salesforce (e.g. records, campaigns, events, etc.)
Identifying user training needs and helping promote user adoption in CRM and related applications.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management of Information Systems (MIS), Operations Management or a related field
Two years of experience in business systems support and/or business process analysis and automation
Experience with Salesforce or other cloud-based constituent relationship management (CRM) solution
Knowledge of or experience with requirements, management tools and software for documenting business process, requirements and testing
Strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills
Proven ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and presentation skills as well as attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
An understanding of business systems support for higher education
Knowledge of university structure and interdependent business units
