Position Summary
Responsible for the overall management of billing operations and financial analysis. Administrative management over coding, billing, pre-cert coordinators, financial analysis and revenue cycle training and process improvement.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develops and maintain policies and procedures related to charge capture, coding, credentialing and overall rev cycle. Assist managers with establishing targets to achieve quality and productivity standards and looks for ways to improve processes.
Evaluates processes across each functional area to ensure efficiency and maximum automation and efficiency.
Directs activity between WUPBS and Medical School Finance (journal, report requests, budget, year-end close.).
Continuously monitors and analyzes key revenue cycle performance indicators.
Directs the preparation of reports and reviews reports to identify trends.
Implements strategies to maximize reimbursement for the department.
Supervises manager of coding, manager of surgery scheduling/pre-cert coordinators, and also billing, credentialing, charge capture staff.
Acts as primary liaison with WUPBS.
Performs financial review and analysis, reimbursement analysis and budget development and analysis.
Assists the Department Chairman and Executive Director in establishing business plans.
Performs financial analysis on a variety of projects as requested.
Serves as department insurance expert.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare background and advanced degree desirable.
Experience with process improvement desirable.
Working knowledge of finance and people management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at various levels.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Good organization and planning skills.
Requires ability to analyze and resolve highly difficult problems, to integrate information from multiple sources, to utilize creative thinking and to exercise considerable judgment and resourcefulness.
Possess strong interpersonal, communication organization, management and supervisory skills.
Position requires diplomacy and confidentiality due to highly sensitive information utilized or accessed.
Comprehensive insurance knowledge.
PC software knowledge.
Excel, Power Point and Word skills.
Required Qualifications
Equivalent of BS in finance, accounting or health related field with training and experience in healthcare finance, accounting, and/or accounts receivable.
Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.

Salary Range
$89,300.00 - $157,200.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
