Job Description
The Business Specialist for Economic and Community Development (ECD) supports the overall operations of the Economic and Community Development unit at the University of Missouri-St. Louis including focused support with the Community Innovation and Action Center (CIAC) and Creating Whole Communities (CWC). The Business Specialist is a full-time position and will report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Economic and Community Development.

The Business Specialist, ECD is part of a team that will strategically amplify and strengthen the university and its economic and community impact on the region and state.
The Business Specialist will support the unit in completing paperwork and processing payments, agreements, and contracts with MU Shared services and partners, track budgets and expenditures on projects and initiatives, manage HR processes, assist in website updates and support other business operations of the unit as needed. The Business Specialist will be an outstanding collaborator, well organized, and have excellent interpersonal skills and integrity, characterized by quality communication skills, transparency, trust, authenticity, and drive.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Complete paperwork, communicate with MU Shared Services and track status of contracts with clients and suppliers, including invoices, payments, stipends; Engage with MU Accounting as necessary on CWC programming
Track and provide updates on budgets and expenditures to team members on the initiatives they manage
Coordinate with leaders across ECD unit on staffing and budget adjustments to ensure that time is appropriately charged to the correct funding streams
Complete paperwork and track status of summer pay and course buy-outs for faculty funded through CIAC and CWC
Complete HR cover sheets and track status of new hires in the HR portal
Work with UMSL Business Managers on CWC Faculty Fellows payments, executing the process to pay out grant funds according to the budget/payment request
Assist in website management and updates across ECD, CIAC, CWC, and Missouri Community Lab
Complete Extension event reporting for CWC
Assist with ordering and management of supplies
Support other ECD business operations as needed

Pay commensurate with education and experience. Hiring Range: $19.21 - $20.65 Hourly Grade: GGS-007 University Title: Business Specialist
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred with experience in office and budget management
