Business Analyst: Staff Associate; Institutional Effectiveness; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours/week; Non-Unit Professional Position
Position Summary: The Business Analyst works closely with various stakeholder groups within the College and the Center for Corporate and Community Education to provide ongoing support and new deployments of business intelligence tools, dashboards, reporting, and analytics. The three focus areas for this role are Non-Credit, Human Resources, and Finance. The main responsibilities of this position include:
Data Insight and Analysis (40%): Provides strategic decision support to primarily Non-Credit and the rest of the units at the college through research, data analytics, and visualizations.
System Administration (30%): Serves as the primary system administrator for the college's Enrollment Management System (EMS) for the Non-Credit area of the college (Destiny1).
Data Stewardship and Governance (30%): Accountable for data accuracy, security, management, definitions for aforementioned subject matter areas.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Data Insight and Analysis (40%)
Business Analyst is primarily focused on supporting the Non-Credit unit.
Develops creative ways to analyze and display qualitative and quantitative data using Tableau.
Guides inquiry and research methodology development around key decision making such as development of new offerings, marketing campaigns and student lifecycle.
Builds and implements strategy and testing of marketing campaigns.
Leverages storytelling skills to deliver insights that are clear, concise, and actionable.
Utilizes appropriate statistical and or analytical skillsets to make meaning of data.
Develops and/or maintains regular reports for quick insights into departmental effectiveness.
Support all external data reporting for non-credit for the Commonwealth.
System Administrator of Destiny One (30%)
Serves as subject matter expert for Destiny One, the College's new enrollment management software.
Maintains and upgrade projects.
Provides insight and recommendations to stakeholders around potential process changes or solutions.
Configures the system to meet business goals.
Identifies modifications and improvements to enhance efficiencies and performance of existing system features.
Acts as main contact person with the vendor to report issues, production down, and requests.
Data Stewardship and Governance (30%)
Responsible for non-credit data access, privacy, quality and integrity.
Establishes and documents data definitions and policies, in particular for Non-Credit area of college.
Serves as Data Manager on Data Governance Data Manager Committee.
Serves as member of Data Governance project manager, leading Data Governance priorities.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, statistics, math, data analytics, business, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of total job experience, and three years of experience managing and analyzing large data sets, preferably in a college setting.
Experience with application implementations or upgrades.
Working knowledge of programming (e.g. SQL, R, Python, SPSS, SAS etc.)
Experience with a data warehouse and/or business intelligence system(s).
Significant project management experience.
Experience with CRM, ERP, or CMS.
Knowledge and experience building data visualizations, dashboards, and stories using Tableau (or similar software) in a customer setting.
Understanding of data management and data governance and its relationship to the student experience.
Excellent skills in telling a data story in a concise and effective fashion.
Ability to problem-solve using appropriate statistical methodologies.
Willingness to investigate, learn, and initiate new processes, technologies, and analytical tools.
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-functional team for the purpose of planning and executing.
Propensity to meet tight deadlines regularly.
Experience in implementing new data governance strategies.
Ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ethnically, cultural, and socially diverse populations in a multi-campus environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Destiny One and Banner
Experience in building a customer lifecycle model.
Experience with Zogotech Data Warehouse.
Experience in developing data frameworks to capture the drivers of a customer experience.
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

Additional Information:
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $70,000-$76,500 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
