Position Summary:
The UCI School of Education is focused on advancing educational sciences and contributing to improved educational opportunities and outcomes for individuals across the entire lifespan. Under the general supervision of the School of Education Director of Personnel, uses payroll professional concepts to coordinate, process and perform various payroll functions within the school including UCPath transactions and timekeeping activities. Creates and pulls reports for analysis and applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve a variety of payroll issues. Works on payroll problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Serves of initial point of contact for employee onboarding.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and understands organizational rules and regulations. Demonstrate ability to prioritize assignments when faced with heavy workload, deadlines, and competing requests for service. Problem solving, problem identification and reasoning skills. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Uses interpersonal skills and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues. Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Intermediate mathematical skills. Ability to maintain the confidentially of student, faculty, and staff personnel and financial information. Working knowledge of many payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs. Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a team, to exercise sound judgment and discretion in working with sensitive and highly confidential matters.

Working knowledge of UC Staff and Academic Personnel, Payroll Policies, Procedures, and collective bargaining contracts.
