Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement and Evaluation Specialist (CI&ES) works with the center's executive leadership to collaboratively plan out continuous improvement and evaluation activities. The CI&ES manages evaluation design, methodology, and execution of plans including development and validation of research instruments, data collection and analysis, and reporting on the quality and efficacy of center services. The CI&ES works in collaboration with the centers associate directors, director of operations, and executive director.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Supports the development and maintenance of the center's project management and client relations management database.
Contributes to the development and execution of a comprehensive continuous improvement and evaluation plan. Supports the design and implementation of an annual continuous improvement and evaluation plan in accordance to the center's 2022 logic model and annual technical assistance work plan.
Engages in data collection, analysis, and reporting activities. Identifies and acquires data from internal and external data sources; analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets; interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports that interpret, analyzed collected data using both quantitative and qualitative research/evaluation methods and data collection techniques such observations and structured interviews as well as statistical packages such as MS Excel, SPSS, NVIVO, STATA and other data management systems.
Develops and or maintains existing data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Filters and "cleans" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
Executes required data reporting activities. Coordinates the collection, summarization and reporting of monthly metrics and other regularly scheduled data reporting requirements.
Designs comprehensive reports to assist executive leadership in making good data-driven center decisions. Creates formative and summative reports and case studies; proof-reads, reviews, and edits reports and case studies. Creates data representations, including charts and infographics and presentation slide decks that facilitate the dissemination of evaluation and research findings that are comprehensible to a variety of audiences.
Engages staff and regional partners in the support of research and evaluation activities. Interacts with center staff to identify their information and research needs, assists, and provides guidance to the staff in determination of suitable analytical methodology for assigned projects and achieving project objectives. Interacts with center staff and regional partners to have good working knowledge of the center's work and to assist in the data analysis.
General Responsibilities
Provides experienced analysis of existing data and data structures and satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests.
Creates reporting specifications for new reports/dashboards/analytical tools and performs testing/validation; ensures integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of reports/dashboards and data structures; reviews and approves user requests for access to reporting data and tools.
Consults with faculty and/or staff to identify new business reporting needs and provides guidance and interpretation of complex environments and data.
Performs experienced analysis to interpret and determine validity and quality of data.
Performs migration and conversion of data as needed in support of analysis efforts.
Researches and stays up-to-date on emerging technologies and tools and makes recommendations for implementation to improve data analysis services and approaches.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
2 years of data analysis, reporting, or related experience
Preferred
2 years research and evaluation experience across non-profits and/or government agencies

Strong knowledge of and experience with databases programming
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing quantitative and qualitative datasets (MS Excel, SPSS, SAS, STATA, NVIVO etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Good communication skills and ability to make complex data analyses and finds easily comprehensible to various audiences including staff, teachers, and parents
Ability to create quality data representations such as charts, graphs, and infographics for ease in visual inspection of evaluation or research findings
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Proficient in project management
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional Information
This position is grant funded with expected annual renewals. Renewals are contingent on the availability of grant funds.
